This is an early hybrid variety with small heads. The heads are round, firm, and very well-balanced. They grow to a weight of 0.9 - 1.5 kg and have an excellent internal structure. They are harvested gradually from mid-July.
The "Unikat" F1 variety is highly resistant to cracking and has a long shelf life in the field. It is particularly suitable for direct consumption and can also be used for crushing, but should not be used for storage.
1.0 g = 250-300 seeds.
* Varieties of cabbage.
Early cabbage has a small, loose head. Its beauty lies in the quick production of tender greens for salads, side dishes, and soups.
Ripens 50-100 days after germination. Plant as early as possible in spring. Yields are small and prone to cracking when overgrown. Harvesting begins selectively in July. Does not store well. Not suitable for pickling.
Mid-season cabbage produces a significantly larger yield and produces large heads of cabbage.
These varieties are versatile and can be pickled or kept fresh for quite a long time. They ripen 90-170 days after germination. Some early varieties, planted later, are grown as mid-season varieties.
Late-season cabbage has the best taste and nutritional qualities and can be used for processing or stored fresh until the following season. It ripens 160-210 days after germination. It accumulates the least amount of nitrates.
* Growing cabbage seedlings indoors is a laborious and difficult task , as not all gardeners succeed in obtaining good seedlings of this crop, and those summer residents and rural residents who have a greenhouse or other insulated shelter cope with this task more easily...
To obtain good seedlings of white cabbage, red cabbage, Brussels sprouts and Savoy cabbage, it is necessary to adhere to the following growing regime: the air temperature from sowing until emergence should be at least +20°C, and for 4-7 days after emergence and +6+10°C, subsequently - on sunny days +14+18°C, on cloudy days +12+16°C, at night +6+10°C, with a relative air humidity of 60-70%. Good ventilation of seedlings is required.
The conditions for growing good cauliflower and kohlrabi seedlings are almost the same. The only difference is that these varieties of cabbage require slightly higher temperatures on a sunny day (16-18°C), and relative humidity between 70-80%. (In a typical apartment, if the air isn't humidified, relative humidity is typically 45-50%).
Almost all types of seedlings must be grown for a certain period of time immediately after germination at a lower temperature than before germination. Unfortunately, this requirement is rarely met, resulting in seedlings that are often elongated, puny, and pale, resulting in reduced yields.
